# 6062
I’m saddened to discover that Ida at BFIC has posted a notice on their website that they are shutting down their blog.
The Bird Flu Information Corner- a joint project between Kobe University in Japan and the Institute of Tropical Disease, Airlangga University, Indonesia – has been an invaluable source of information on influenza activity in Indonesia for several years.
Their contribution to Flublogia will be greatly missed. Here is the announcement.

This activity has been managed by researchers both in Kobe University (KU), Japan, and Institute of Tropical Disease (ITD), Airlangga University, Indonesia, under the support by the “Japan Initiative for Global Research Network on Infectious Diseases (J-GRID)” program.
Since it has established, we tried to cover the almost all H5N1 outbreak news in animals and human. We hope this simple activity played some roles for global information sharing and for controlling/preparing to this kind of worldwide infectious disease.
Following to generational change, we’re closing this blog. Last but not the least, all of our gratitude to all friends who have worked on BFIC together under the kindred soul!
