Streaking like a meteor across the newswires this morning is the surprise announcement from the AP is that the World Health Organization has declared the Swine Flu Pandemic is over.
The surprise being . . . the pandemic actually ended a year ago.
. . . but not before it was picked up and republished by a number of news agencies. This is a snapshot of the NewsNow wire feed as of 7:30 EST today.
While the story has been retracted by most news sites, it remains online on several websites and is now making the rounds on twitter.
Begging the question. Does anyone bother to read this stuff before they send it out?
Sigh.
