Yesterday, at a flu forum where I no longer participate, someone using my alias began posting inflamatory and libelous statements. Including admissions that I was `a liar' and had posted under other names.
It took several hours before the board removed these posts.
Those who know me, undoubtedly knew I did not make those posts. But many newer visitors to that board probably believed them.
There is always a danger on the Internet. Malicious people can do a lot of damage in a short period of time. My reputation has been tarnished, but not completely destroyed.
A cautionary tale for anyone on the web, whether you post, or just read posts.
