Although most of the information here is pretty technical, and geared for research scientists, a Human/Swine H1N1 Influenza Wiki has been started on the Internet.
Only registered users can post, but the information should be freely available to anyone who wants to read it.
A `wiki’ is basically a `living’ encyclopedia of knowledge, created and maintained by the people who use it. Rather than hoarding information, scientists can share it.
Here is how the editors describe their creation:
These pages exist to enable the rapid dissemination of results resulting from the analysis of genetic data from the ongoing Influenza A/H1N1 outbreak attributed to swine flu. All data used, unless otherwise specified, was made available by GISAID or NCBI and can be obtained directly from these sites.
All analysis should be considered preliminary and results are conditional on the correct labelling and annotation of genetic sequences. Additionally, results may be influenced by limited and biased sampling of isolates. Given the rapid posting of these data, we expect corrections to be made.
