PBS.org runs a weekly news magazine show called NOW, and this week the subject was the H1N1 virus in particular and pandemics in general.
The two guests were Dr. Larry Brilliant and Dr. Nathan Wolfe. Both gentlemen have been profiled in my blog numerous times, including:
Google Donates 14M To Combat Next Pandemic
TED Talks And Dr. Nathan Wolfe
Nathan Wolfe: Virus Hunter
HealthMap Redux
Proving, I guess that I am an unabashed fan of both of these scientists.

“Anyone who tells you that they know that this is a mild pandemic, and the WHO has overreacted, they don't know. Anyone who tells you that the WHO and CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] have underestimated it, they don't know," Brilliant tells NOW. "We're all going to find out at the same time...we're all in it together."

I was first turned onto the TED Talks when a friend sent me a link to the winner of 2006’s TED Prize, Dr. Larry Brilliant's presentation on his dream of a new global system that can identify and contain pandemics before they spread.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. Each year they hold a 4 day long event at Long Beach, California where 50 people are urged to give the 18-minute talk of their lives.
And what talks they are!
If you’ve never seen this speech, I urge you to watch it now.

Ted calls these talks Ideas Worth Spreading. And that they certainly are.
This next one is Dr. Nathan Wolfe’s TED talk about stopping the next pandemic at the source.

All three videos are highly recommended.
