SophiaZoe, author of A Journey Through The World Of Pandemic Influenza, has been MIA the past few weeks because half of her accounting department at work decided to move on to greener pastures.
Suddenly she found herself dealing with 50% staffing, and buried in work.
Pretty much the scenario one might expect during a pandemic. Luckily the rest of the company she works for wasn't similarly affected, so she had some internal help, and was able (with great difficulty) to keep her department running.
There are lessons here for every business. Important ones, that show how vital cross-training and step-by-step documentation of office procedures would be in a pandemic.
