UPDATE: Hong Kong Consulate Removes Prep Recommendation Page

#204

On November 3rd, the US Consulate General's office in Hong Kong issued an advisory to all ex-pat Americans living there to stockpile 12 weeks of food, water and medicine in anticipation of a possible pandemic. You can read about it here.

Earlier today, without comment, the advisory was changed to just 2 weeks of supplies. The old announcement was removed from the embassy site.

Late this afternoon, I checked back and found that the revised advisory is now gone.

First 3 months, then 2 weeks, now nothing.

Hopefully, a new advisory will be forthcoming soon. I have no idea why they pulled the revised one. I can only assume there is some discussion ongoing as to what their `official' stance should be.

For now, if you click on the old LINK

you are rerouted to a new url

which is a general information page on Avian Influenza.

Curiouser and Curiouser.
